Josh Marshall of TPM has this to say about that (specifically, the first two paragraphs):

And that's the same Bob Joseph who was charged with muscling the CIA into letting President Bush use the Niger bamboozle in the 2003 State of the Union address. And he actually managed to get it done, even after Alan Foley and others at the CIA told him repeatedly they didn't think it was true. So he certainly speaks with a lot of credibility on this issue."
...Has anyone got a spare saucer ship they're not using? I'd like to get off this crazy thing now.
You know, it's strange, but I don't feel like I'm dying from radiation sickness, due to all the fallout from Iran nuking the US. Do you think it's because that never happened?

It has been a battlefield for two wars, the Gulf war and the Iran-Iraq war, where many kinds of bombs were used. Also, oil pipelines were bombed and most of the contamination settled in and around Basra.
